Narcís Ferrer i Ferrer
Director of the Catalan Tourist Board
With extensive experience in strategic and operational project management in the public and private sectors, Narcís Ferrer i Ferrer excels in the development of tourist destinations. He directed the Institute for the Economic Development of Palafrugell, focusing on tourism and local development. Ferrer also founded a hotel management company and provided consultancy services to tourism companies. He is currently the director of the Catalan Tourist Board since September 2021.
Alan Vella
Project Advisor the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) established by the European Commission
Alan Vella has a notable career in institutional environments, serving in roles within the European Commission and the United Nations since 2006. He is currently a project manager at the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) in Brussels. He has worked in the European Commission’s Tourism Unit, at the UN Climate Change Secretariat, and was a guest lecturer at the Sorbonne University. Vella represented the European Commission at events across Europe and held managerial positions in Malta, his home country. He won Malta’s “Tourism Journalist of the Year” award in 2001 and holds a master’s degree in Tourism Planning and Development from the University of Surrey.
Nick Hall
Founder of Digital Tourism Think Tank
Nick Hall, founder and CEO of the Digital Tourism Think Tank, is recognised as a leading expert on digital trends and transformation in tourism. With over 20 years’ experience, he has advised numerous DMOs and driven industry trends and change. Hall focuses on developing the #DTTT to address key issues such as sustainable leadership and collaborates on projects to positively impact the leisure economy.
Montse Guardia
Chief People Officer (CPO) at IDEADED | President of the Board of Trustees at UPC
An experienced executive with over 25 years in IT systems, strategy, and operations management. Currently the Chief People Officer at IDEADED and President of the Board of Trustees at UPC, she specializes in strategy, ecosystem management, and implementing innovative programs in IoT, Blockchain, and AI. A community builder and mentor, she advocates a humanistic approach to technology and actively promotes collaboration between startups and multinationals, with a focus on sustainable development goals.
Gian Franco
Co-founder at Hospitalidad Emprendedora
Gian Franco, cofounder of Sweet Accommodations & Coimpact Coliving, offers tourist and mid-term accommodations in Barcelona, Lloret de Mar, and Sevilla. He is also a cofounder of Hospitalidad Emprendedora, a media and education organization focused on innovation in the tourism and hospitality sector. An avid explorer of new technologies, Gian is dedicated to researching the convergence of Web3 and tourism.
Blanca Cros
Tourbit Coordinator and Head of EU Projects and International of the Catalan Tourist Board
Blanca Cros has served as the Head of the European Projects and International Relations Department at the Catalan Tourist Board since 2015. In this role, she has successfully coordinated various European Projects, including Hiking Europe, CHARM (COSME), and Med Pearls (ENI-CBC-MED). Currently, she leads projects such as the Tourbit and BEFuture (SINGLE MARKET). In addition to her position at the Catalan Tourist Board, she actively contributes as a member of the Network of European Regions for Competitive and Sustainable Tourism (NECSTOUR) and serves as an IGCAT expert (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism). With over 25 years of dedicated service in the tourism sector, she holds degrees in Tourism from both the University of Girona and the University of Toulouse Le Mirail.
Sandra de Puig
Event Master of Ceremony, EU project manager, Catalan Tourist Board
Sandra de Puig is a Project Manager at the Catalan Tourist Board, where she oversees the management and implementation of several EU-funded projects across various EU funding programmes. Additionally, Sandra coordinates Catalonia’s participation as Vice President of NECSTouR (Network of European Regions for Sustainable and Competitive Tourism) and supports the CTB’s representation in EU networks and institutions. Previously, she served as the Head of Policy and Knowledge at NECSTouR. She has sound expertise on working with topics related to sustainability, digitalization, accessibility, and regeneration. Sandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Sustainable Territorial Development.
