More than 90% of tourism SMEs want to prepare or are preparing to improve their state of digitalization.
The Digital Readiness Index (DRI) is the free to use system launched by the European project Tourbit to promote digitalization among tourism SMEs in a simple and effective way. The tool assesses the digital maturity of companies in the tourism sector in different areas and provides recommendations to promote its implementation.
Through an online questionnaire of 44 questions that test the use of technology and the capacity of the organization, the DRI provides an individual report with a detailed visualization of the results, an in-depth self-assessment and numerous tips for improvement.
With the use of the DRI, tourism SMEs will be in a privileged position to develop their digitalization project and will have the opportunity to receive up to €8,000 for SMEs in Catalonia, Portugal, and Slovenia; or €9,000 in the case of France, Belgium, Iceland, and Finland. The aim is to support digital deployment through the Tourbit Acceleration Programme, a call for grants to be launched in January 2023.
According to the latest available data, about 40% of tourism SMEs that have assessed their state of digitalization through the DRI are still beginners regarding the use of digital tools, approaches and uses of technology, but more than 90% want to prepare or are preparing to improve their state of digitalization.
